The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wants to arrange the two Test matches between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe after the ICC T20 World Cup (WC).
But the BCB want to stage the five-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe after the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket at home.
The BPL Cricket will start January 19 and will come to an end on March 1.
On the other hand, the ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in the United States of America and the West Indies from June 1.
The BPL Cricket is a preparation for Bangladesh Cricket team for the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup.
Besides, Bangladesh team are eager to play five T20I matches against Zimbabwe, which will be a preparation for Bangladesh Cricket team for the also T20 World Cup.
Chairman of the Cricket Operations Committee of the BCB Jalal Yunus said to a local website on Tuesday, ” We don’t cancel the two Test matches between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.
Bangladesh will must play the two Tests against Zimbabwe.
But we don’t want that Bangladesh will play two Test matches after the ICC T20 World Cup.
But when BCB stages the Test matches yet to be finalised.”
After the BPL Cricket 2024, Bangladesh will host Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh will play two Test matches, three ODI matches and three T20I matches against the islanders.
After that, it is scheduled that Bangladesh and Zimbabwe play two Test matches and five T20I matches against Zimbabwe.
But BCB is not interested to stage two Tests between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe as BCB wants to send Bangladesh Cricket team in USA to adapt with the conditions of USA as early as possible.
Bangladesh are going to play in the United States of America (USA) for the second time.
In the year of 2018, Bangladesh played two matches against West Indies in Florida of the USA.
