Chayan Islam wins from Sirajganj-6 constituency

In the 12th parliamentary elections, Awami League nominated boat candidate Chayan Islam won in Sirajganj-6, Shahzadpur constituency with a huge margin. In 160 polling stations of this seat, candidate Chayan Islam got 1,28,890 votes.
His nearest rival independent candidate Halimul Haque Miru (Eagle) got 25,676 votes. Upazila Executive Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Md. Kamruzzaman privately announced Chayan Islam as the winner in the Shaheed Smriti conference room of Upazila Parishad.
It should be noted that 8 candidates contested in this seat. Polling in 160 centers on January 7 from 8 am to 4 pm was conducted in a free, fair and peaceful atmosphere without any untoward incident.
