‘BGB ready for election’

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is ready to deal with any kind of situation surrounding the 12th National elections on January 7, said the Director General (DG) of the force, Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan.

He said that BGB’s Rapid Action Team (RAT) and Dog Squad are working all over the country. Besides, our quick response team is also ready.

To deal with any situation, the members of this team are kept ready to reach the spot quickly by helicopter.

DG gave this information after visiting the various electoral beige camps set up in the capital at Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex in Mirpur on Friday afternoon.

BGB Director General said 1,155 platoon BGB members have been deployed across the country including the capital to make the 12th National Assembly elections free, fair and peaceful and to maintain peace and order.

Our deployed manpower is functioning from 487 beige camps across the country. And 700 patrols of BGB have been patrolling day and night.

BGB is ready to take necessary measures to prevent sabotage, vandalism and protecting people’s lives, DG added.
