Media centre for election reporting inaugurated

A media centre has been opened at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon to provide logistical support to local and foreign journalists in the elections.
Internet, fax, printer, laptops, and other facilities to do briefings will be available at the centre, reports media.

PID officials will be in the centre constantly till Monday to provide support.

Following the center’s opening, Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal said: “There will be modern facilities available for representatives of domestic and foreign media who will come, stay, and try to collect information.”

Journalists will be crucial in highlighting the electoral process’s transparency and visibility, he added.

Notably, the 12th national election will take place on Sunday.
