Habibur Rahman of North Zone broke the record of Mashrafe scoring a century using 49 balls against central Zone in their one-day match of the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) at Sheikh Kamal International Stadium in Cox’s Bazar Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.
It may be mentioned that BCL is a competition of List-A Cricket meet. Earlier, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza hit a century using 50 deliveries in Dhaka Premier League (DPL) in 2006.
Mashrafe played for Kalabagan Krira Chakra against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited in that match.
Habiur Rahman’s century guided North Zone to win against Central Zone.
Habibur scored 117 runs playing 61 deliveries. He hit nine sixes and nine fours in his innings.
It is noteworthy that This was Sohan’s second List A ton in 18 matches and his impressive strike rate is over 130 in 50-over cricket speaks volumes about his talent.
The 24-year-old had earlier played for Khulna Tigers in the 2023 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and had made headlines with his explosive 9-ball-30 against Fortune Barishal.
Although he fell short of the all-time List A record of Jake Fraser-McGurk of Australia, who made a hundred off just 29 balls earlier this year.
