DB nabs ‘mastermind’ of cocktail attack on Dhaka court

The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested the ‘mastermind’ of the cocktail blast on Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court premises that took place on November 20.

The accused has been identified as Mukit alias Boma Maulana, Additional Commissioner (DB Chief) Harunor Rashid confirmed the matter to the media at a press briefing on Tuesday noon.

Mukit alias Boma Maulana, is the mastermind behind the attack. Some bomb making materials were recovered from his possession, he added.

The cocktail blast occurred a few minutes before the start of hearing on the bail petition of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, now in jail in connection with a case filed over the attack on the residence of Chief Justice at Kakrail in the capital.
