Major Akhteruzzaman regains candidacy on appeal

Expelled BNP leader and independent candidate of Kishoreganj-2 (Pakundia-Katiadi) constituency Major (Rtd) Akhtaruzzaman Ranjan won the appeal to the Election Commission (EC) and got back the candidature. He wrote in the Facebook post, ‘The movement for the release of country mother Khaleda Zia has started.’
On Thursday, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal declared his nomination valid after hearing the appeal at the Agargaon election building in the capital.
After that, in a post from his personal Facebook ID, Akhtaruzzaman Ranjan wrote, ‘By the infinite mercy of Almighty Allah, the Election Commission has declared my nomination valid. My new movement for the release of country mother Khaleda Zia has started from today (Thursday).
It is known that on December 3, Returning Officer (RO) and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Abul Kalam canceled the nomination of Azad Akhtaruzzaman after scrutinizing the allegations of concealment of case information and bank loan information in the affidavit.
Meanwhile, In Katiyadi-Pakundia constancy, 14 people submitted nomination forms.
