About 5 lakh children to be fed “A” capsules in Rangpur

On the occasion of “A” Plus campaign on December 12, a press conference was organized in the hall of Rangpur District Civil Surgeon on Sunday morning.

Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Ruhul Amin said in the conference that this program will be conducted on December 12 from 8 am to 4 pm at every vaccination center and at temporary/mobile centers at haat-bazar, bus stand, launch-ghat and railway station.

The campaign will be conducted by 3 thousand 664 volunteers, 1 thousand 306 health workers and 303 family planning workers in 1 thousand 832 centers in Rangpur district.

As part of that, 57 thousand 770 children aged 06-11 months and 163 children with disabilities will be given one blue color (1 lakh IU) and 4 lakh 30 thousand 100 children aged 12 months to 59 months will participate in the “A” plus campaign in Rangpur district.

And 1 thousand 552 children with disabilities will be fed vitamin “A” plus capsules to 4 lakh 89 thousand 585 children of red color (2 lakh IU).

Dr. Ruhul Amin urged to take vitamin “A” capsules to avoid blindness due to vitamin “A” deficiency.

This will save children above all and prevent child deaths.
