Fog disrupts ferry on Paturia, Aricha route

Before the onset of winter, heavy fog especially Paturia-Daulatdia, Aricha-Kazirhat sea-route ferries, launches, cargo, boats, speed boats and Dhaka-Aricha highway and connecting roads are severely disrupted.

Ferry Company BIWTC Aricha Sector DGM Khaled Nawaz said that the fog created on Saturday evening gradually thickened and the ferry service was stopped late at night.

Ferry service resumed at around 10am on Sunday.

As a result, queues of vehicles waiting to board at those ports become long and passengers suffer in general.

Meanwhile, people of different ages including women and children are suffering from various diseases including cold, cough, fever due to the effect of thick fog.

As the sun is not visible, various cultivated crops including mustard, kalai are being damaged due to thick fog.
