10 held over setting fire on a passenger bus at Rampal

Some 10 persons were arrested by the police of Rampal PS in Bagerhat district in connection with setting fire on a passenger bus that was standing just near at Foilahat bus stand (under Rampal Upazila in Bagerhat dist,) on Khulna-Mongla Highway at the night of November 28.

SM Ashraful Alam, Officer-in-charge of Rampal PS told, one Saiful Islam who is the owner of the burnt bus, hailed from Rupsa Upazila in Khulna district registered a case with Rampal PS at the last Tuesday accusing a number of miscreants and in accordance with the case police conducted raids in the different places and arrested as many as 10 accused persons (including 8 BNP activists) at the night of last Wednesday from the different places of the Upazila and the arrested persons were already sent to the court at Bagerhat district headquarters on Thursday.

The arrestees are Gazj Mujibor (68), son of one Kapasdang under the Upazila, Ibrahim Shaikh (30), son of one Mozaffar Shaikh of village Talbunia, Md. Hemayet Shaikh (45), son of one Kawsar Shaikh of village Srreerambha, Md. Mostafa Munsh (55), son of one Gani Munshi of the same village, Al-Musabbir alias Sabbir (22), son of one Shahin Shani Shaikh of village Kumlai, Md. Al-Miran (23), son of one Habibur Rahman of village Hogladanga, Md. Tarikul Islam Shimul (30), son of one Nazrul Islam of village Sonatunia, Md, Skendar sheikh (38), son of one Golam Mostafa of village Kapasdanga, Mahatab Morol (68), son of one late Hatem Ali of village Daldaho, Md. Abdulla Shaikh (37) and son of one Abdul Mazid Shaikh of village Santospur.
