Mohakhali petrol pump fire doused

A fire that broke out at the Royal Petrol Pump in city’s Mohakhali area was doused on Wednesday evening.
On information, two firefighting units from Tejgaon Fire Station doused the fire at 8:45 pm on Wednesday, said Shahjahan Sikder, Deputy Assistant Director of Fire Service and Civil Defence (media cell).
Earlier, the fire broke out following a cylinder blast on Wednesday at 8:08pm.

Two firefighting units from Tejgaon Fire Station reached the spot at 8:30 pm and were working to douse the fire, said the fire official.
Mazharul Islam, officer-in-charge of Tejgaon Industrial Police Station, said it is an accidental fire, not an act of sabotage.
“We came to know that two persons were injured,” he said.
The police official suspected the fire was caused by gas cylinder explosion.
Fire officials, however, said an investigation is needed to determine the cause of the fire.
