Fishing trawler with 4 fishermen kidnapped from Bay of Bengal

Four fishermen along with a fishing trawler were kidnapped from the Bay of Bengal near Mandarbaria area under the Eastern Division on Sundarbans (in Bagerhat district) at Saturday night by a gang of jungle pirates, according to a delayed report received here.
Modascher Sardar, Chief of the fishermen of Alorkol Island under Dubla fisherman village disclosed to the newsmen of Sharankhola Upazila (in Bagerhat district) over mobile phone at Sunday night, while my fishermen were catching fish in the sea near Mandarbaria at Saturday night some unidentified jungle pirates appeared there by a trawler and lifted 2 fishermen from my trawler to their trawler and fled away. The kidnapped fishermen are Rabiul, son of one Abdul Halim and Sohel, sone of one Akbar hail from Ranjoypur under Rampal Upazila in Bagerhat district and at the same time one Ohid Shaikh, owner of a fishing trawler and one of his fisherman were kidnapped along with the trawler by the jungle pirates. They also hail from the same area. But nothing was known about the release of the kidnapped fishermen from the jungle pirates.
Motasin Faraji, President of Fishermen’s Association of Rampal Upazila at Alorkol told, following the kidnapping incident of 4 fishermen from the sea a great panic was once again created among the fishermen of Dubla fisherman village after a long gap.
