Bangladesh Women blank Singapore in FIFA Friendly

Bangladesh Women’s Football team blanked Singapore Women’s Football team by eight goals to nil in their second FIFA Friendly match at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the capital’s Kamalapur on Monday.

Earlier, Bangladesh Women thrashed Singapore Women by three goals to nil in their first FIFA Friendly match at the same venue on December 1.

Ritu Porna Chakma and Tohura Khatun scored two goals each. Sabina Khatun, Sanjida Akhter, Sumaya Matsushima and Shamsunnahar Junior netted one goal each.

Singapore included Danella Tan, who has played for Borussia Dortmund in Bundesliga of Europe but the touring side could not change their fate.

On the other hand, the hosts played in yesterday’s match without any change.

Bangladesh led the first half 3-0.

Bangladesh got the first chance in the early three minutes. Sabina Khatun got a long through pass from her teammate Monika Chakma but Sabina hit the ball straightly to the Singapore goalie.

Sabina got a long pass from the midfield and she got the Singapore goalie alone but her shot went wide in the 11th minute of the play.

After three minutes, Noore Sajeani of Singapore entered the Bangladesh D-Box but her forceful shot was defended by Bangladesh goalie Rupna Chakma.

Tohura Khatun put her team ahead in the 16th minute using a header of her teammate Masura Parvin which she got from the free-kick of Sabina Khatun.

Ritu Porna Chakma tapped the ball into the blank net using a corner kick of her teammate Sabina Khatun in the 18th minute of the match.

The Singapore custodian failed to clear a shot of Ritu Porna Chakma and Tohura Khatun made no mistake to put the ball into the blank net in the 24th minute of the game.

After the lemon-break, Tohura’s placing shot was bounced back from the Singapore custodian and Sanjida Akhter found the net by a power-packed shot.

Tohura got the ball from a cross of her teammate Ritu Porna in the 57th minute of game.

Ritu Porna Chakma made it 5-0 by a forceful left-footer in the 61st minute of the clash.

Sabina Khatun increased the tally into 6-0 by a spectacular placing shot using a pass of her teammate Shamsunnahar Junior in the 75th minute of the game.

Sumaya Matsushima of Bangladesh made it 7-0 by spectacular volley shot in the 87th minute of the encounter and entertained the spectators by her superb shot.

Shamsunnahar Junior put the last nail into the Singapore’s coffin by a placing shot in the injury time of the match.
