Over 100 RMG workers hurt in Cumilla

Over 100 garment workers in Cumilla’s Chauddagram have been injured while rushing out of the factory building of Amir Shirts in panic during Saturday’s morning earthquake.
Chauddagram Upazila Medical Officer Golam Kibria confirmed the matter to the media saying that their multiple teams are working to serve the injured. It is not
possible to tell the exact number of how many people have been admitted so far. The number of injured may increase. But no one was seriously injured.”
Chauddagram police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Trinath Saha said: “I heard that many people were injured while rushing down due to the earthquake. We are trying to get details on this.”
A moderate earthquake jolted Dhaka and other parts of Bangladesh on Saturday morning, creating panic among the people who felt light to strong shakes.
The quake, measuring 5.6 magnitude on the Richter Scale, was felt at 9:35am. It lasted for a few seconds, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
