National Income Tax Day today

The ‘National Income Tax Day-2023’ observed today across the country aiming to create awareness among the people for payment of income tax regularly for the development of the country.

The theme of this year’s tax day is “Will pay tax, will build the country, Bangladesh will be smart”, reports BSS.

On the event of the day, President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday issued separate messages wishing success of the day.

In their messages, the President and the Prime Minister greeted all officials and employees of the NBR and tax-paying individuals marking the income tax day.

In his message, Mohammed Shahabuddin lauded the National Board of Revenue (NBR) for the enactment of the Income Tax Act, 2023 and introducing the first-ever Tax Return Preparer System, Income Tax Returns online filing system, Electronic-Tax Deducted at Source (e-TDS), Document Verification System (DVS) for verifying the correctness of invoices and audited accounts.

He thought that as a result of all these positive programs and reform activities, a revolutionary change will be initiated in income tax management.

He hoped that NBR will contribute more effectively to encourage the common people to pay taxes and make tax payment easier.
