11 including 3 women held from Fakirhat residential hotel

Some 11 persons including the manager and 3 women were arrested from a residential hotel named Swaonabilas at Katakhali (a crossing point of 3 Highways) under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district by the police on the charge of unsocial activities in it at Sunday noon, according to a report received here.
It is learnt from the police that acting on secret information that unsocial activities have been committing in the residential hotel Swapnabilas for a long a police squad of Fakirhat Model PS led by Md. Rabiul Islam Shamim, Assistant Police Super (Circle) conducted a raid in the hotel Sunday noon (at about 12-30 am) and arrested 11 persons from its different rooms.
The arrested persons are Abdul Jalil Gazi (34), manager of the hotel and son of one late Hafizur Rahman of village Gajendrapur under Dumuria Upazila (Khulna district), Sagar Biswas (20), son of one Mizan Biswas of village Town Noapara under Fakirhat Upazila, Tauhidul Islam (26), son of one Mujibor Rahan of village Pabla Daulatpur (Khulna district), Mizan Fakir (23), son of one Mujibor Rahman of village Hiron under Kotalipara Upazila (in Gopalgan j dist.), Tuhin Shaikh (23), son of one Moslem
Sheikh of village Khajadanga under Rupsa Upazila (in Khulna dist,), Shariful Shaikh (20), son of one Azahar Ali Shaikh of village Baliadanga under Fakirhat Upazila (in Bagerhat dist.), Hirok Shikdar (30), son of one Iran Shikdar of village Barsha under Kotalipara Upazila (in Gopalganj dist.), Murad Shaikh (45), son of one Iran Shaikh of village Baliadang under Fakirhat Upazila, 3 women of (Pirojpur dist.), Koira and Rupsa Upazilas (in (Khulna dstrict). The matter was confirmed by Md. Ashraful Alam, Officer-in-charge of Fakirhat Model PS and told, they were arrested as the unsocial activities had been going on for a long period of time in the hotel. In this connection a case was lodged with the PS against the arrestees and they were already sent the court.
Child drowned in a pond in Morrelganj
A 3 years old male child named Md. Husain met a tragic end when he was drowned in a pond of a village within the Ward No.4 under Baraikhali Union of Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district on Sunday afternoon, according to a report received here.
It is learnt from the relatives of the ill-fated child that on the day in the afternoon while his mother was engaged in the household-works he went out of the house without the knowledge of the mother and was playing on the bank of an adjacent pond and, somehow, he slipped, fell into the pond and was drowned.
After half an hour the relatives finding no trace of the child and after a long search they found the body floating on the pond.
The child was recovered and rushed to Morrelganj Upazila Health Complex where the physician on duty declared him dead.
The deceased was the son of one Shukur Ali hails from a village of the Ward No.4 of the Union is now living in Oman.
