No progress in TB control programmes in Kishoreganj

The people of Kishoreganj, like the rest of the country, believed in this saying ‘He who has tuberculosis, there is no protection’. But with the improvement of the medical system, that idea has changed. However, this tuberculosis has silently taken a terrible form in Kishoreganj.
The Civil Surgeon (CS) Office statistics reports, Tuberculosis has silently killed 437 people in the district in the last three years. Apart from this, 16 thousand 909 people have been affected.
At least 68,718 men underwent cough test in the district in 2021. 5334 of them were diagnosed with tuberculosis. 151 patients died that year. In 2022, when 8784 people were tested for cough, 6 thousand 105 people were diagnosed with tuberculosis. And 173 people died.
