Qatar Charity (QC), an international charity organization, with the support of philanthropists in Qatar, recently built and equipped 10 schools with residential sections for the orphan and poor students of underprivileged communities in Bangladesh.

QC inaugurated these new schools in different districts, namely Faridpur, Bagerhat, Brahmanbaria, Meherpur, Gaibandha, Gopalganj, Kushtia, Bogura, and Pirojpur, and it is expected that 2,000 children will benefit from them, said a press release issued by its Dhaka office on Tuesday.

Each of these schools has spacious classrooms, boarding rooms, dining rooms, and teachers’ rooms, which cost 0.3 million Qatari Riyals.

The construction and equipping of these schools came within the framework of Qatar Charity’s endeavor to provide an encouraging study environment for orphan and poor children to support them in continuing their academic careers.

The students and guardians expressed their happiness in getting a good learning environment and they also thanked the kind people of Qatar for providing support to build new schools.

In his part, Md Rashed Kabir, President of ‘First Choice Modern School and Orphan Care Center’ in Meherpur, said, “The locals are so happy for this new building which is equipped with necessary furniture. It surely will inspire children to come to school as well as increase the number of students.”

It is worth noting that in the past five years, Qatar Charity has built nearly 55 schools in different districts of the country equipped with boarding sections for students benefiting more than 12,000 students.
