3 coaches of Jamuna Express train catch fire, case filed

Unidentified miscreants set fire to three carriages of the Jamuna Express train in Jamalpur’s Sari-shabari early Sunday. The incident occurred at around 1:30 am.

Confirming the matter, Sarishabari police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mushfiqur Rahman said some unidentified people set fire to three compartments of the train. Later, the fire fighters doused the blaze around 4 am.

At least five persons received injury following the fire. Investigation is underway in this regard, he added.

Meanwhile, a case has been filed in connection with the fire set to three carriages of the intercity Jamuna Express train.

Abdus Salam, assistant station master of Sarishabari railway station, filed the case against some unidentified people with Jamalpur Railway Police Station on Sunday morning.
