Shotontro Prarthy Oikya Parishad holds press conference

Shotontro Prarthy Oikya Parishad on Friday demanded cancelation of the election schedule for January 7 saying the government should reschedule the next polls after conducting dialogue between political parties.
“The people of the country become disappointed due to Election Commission’s announcement of the next general election without conducting dialogue between the political parties which we demanded long,” Alhaj Md. Abdur Rahim, Chairman, of the parishad said it while addressing in a press briefing at its office in Tejgaon in the capital. The other leaders of the parishad were present in the event.
Alhaj Md. Abdur Rahim said that they had urged the government for holding dialogue with the political parties to solve the longstanding political crisis.
“We want peace instead of conflict, so, we demanded the government for forming a neutral caretaker government for holding the next polls in free, fair and credible manner,” he said.
“The US, the vital development partner of our country also urged the government to start unconditional dialogue to solve disputes,” Abdur Rahim said.
He urged the government to cancel the polls schedule soon for paving the way of solve the disputes in peaceful means.
