Pregnant Mother Service Day celebrated in Sylhet

Pregnant Mother Service Day has been celebrated in different upazilas of Sylhet on Tuesday.
On the occasion of the day, the day was celebrated in Balaganj, Fenchuganj, Golapganj, Bianibazar, Goainghat, Kanaighat and Jokiganj upazilas of Sylhet with the help of social marketing company and the initiative of Sylhet by Simandik to implement the new day of border on November 11 and 12.
Free services have been provided to pregnant mothers through different MBBS doctors of upazila hospitals in the said upazilas. Expectant mothers are advised to have at least 4 checkups, institutional delivery and counseling for proper development of mother and baby during pregnancy.
MBBS, CS (Health) Dr. Mahfuza Khadija Shamma said, this great initiative of Shimantik is really commendable. Khalkur Rahman, Chairman of Laxnaband Union of Golapganj Upazila, thanked the SMC and border officers at all levels for taking this union under the service on behalf of the union residents. Md. Khalkur Rahman, Chairman of Lakkanaband Union of Golapganj Upazila spoke the programme.
Upazila Supervisors Abul Kalam, Shahnaz Sharmin, Zahidur Rahmar Lashkar, Sharif Uddin, Arvind Burman and Khaled Ahmed performed duties in each Upazila on the Pregnant Mother Service Day.
