BAU holds Aman Seed Paddy harvest ceremony

Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) held the harvest ceremony of Aman Seed paddy on its campus in Mymensingh on Tuesday, said a press release.
The farm management section of BAU is making an important contribution at the national level by producing quality seeds and has already gained a wide reputation. To continue this trend, everyone in this section should be more responsible and efficient in seed production said BAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, addressing as the chief guest at the harvest ceremony. Chief Farm Superintendent Prof Dr. Md. Romij Uddin presided over the ceremony.
Bangladesh Agricultural University Student Affairs Advisor Prof Dr. Md. Harun Or Rashid, Coordinator for Advanced Studies & Research, Prof Dr. Abu Hadi Noor Ali Khan, Director of BAURES Prof Dr. Mahfuza Begum, Registrar Md. Waliullah, Prof Dr. Md Abdus Salam, Treasurer Md. Rakib Uddin, Additional registrar Dr. Md. Helal Uddin, Deputy Chief Farm Farm Superintendent Md. Ziaur Rahman, Deputy Director of Public Relations, Din Mohammad Dinu were guests at the ceremony.
Deputy Chief Farm Farm Superintendent Md. Ziaur Rahman said, currently there is 215.11 acres of land under the farm management branch. He said according to agreement with BADC and BINA, under their supervision, about 500 (five hundred) tons of high yielding rice seeds of different varieties are produced in Aman, Boro and Aush seasons in this farm. Among these varieties are Aman rice-Bri rice32,34,39,49,71,75,93,Bina rice-7,11,16,17,20,21,23 Binashail-10, Gutisvarna-5 Boro rice-Bri rice28 , Bri Dhan29, Bri Dhan84, Bri Dhan58, Bri Dhan92, Bri Dhan96, Bau Dhan-3, Bri Dhan100. Farm management sector through seed production has been playing an important role in GDP at the national level.
