CEC-CJ meeting today

Staff Reporter :
Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal will have a courtesy meeting with the Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan on Wednesday.

Mohammad Saifur Rahman, Registrar of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, issued a press release in this regard.

Saifur Rahman said, “The Chief Election Commissioner and other commissioners will have a courtesy meeting with the Chief Justice on November 1.

It is requested to all not to spread confusion in this regard.”

The Appellate Division official further said, “After taking the oath as the Chief Justice, the many officials including the heads of various departments and organizations are having a courtesy meeting with the Chief Justice. Such meetings are also scheduled in the future.”

Meanwhile, Md Shafiqul Islam, Public Relations Officer of the Supreme Court, in a release said some media reported that the CEC will come to inform about overall situation of the upcoming 12th Parliament elections including the announcement of its schedule, instead of a courtesy meeting, which is not true.

However, an Election Commission notification stated that the meeting will be held to inform the Chief Justice about the upcoming 12th Parliament elections situation.
