Speakers urge to solve climate vulnerability for improvising sustainable future

The United Nations Youth and Students Association (UNYSAB) has organised Bangladesh International Model United Nations (BiMUN) 2023 on climate vulnerability for a sustainable future.

The event was held at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) auditorium in the capital from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

BiMUN-23 aims to address climate vulnerability for a sustainable future, and all of the speakers have great things to say about it.

Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh Mr. Masud Bin Momen, attended the inauguration event technologically by sending video messages to the delegates.

During his speech, he claimed that our government had embezzled money meant to alleviate Bangladesh’s climate risk.

Benjamin Morgan, Development Coordinator Officer of the UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh, delivered his speech as a special guest at the event.

Mr. Benjamin said that the theme of BiMUN-23 on climate vulnerability plays a crucial role in a sustainable future. He also thanked UNYSAB for taking this great initiative.

Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice-Chancellor of American International University-Bangladesh, said that students should grow their skills; otherwise, it will be too hard to acquire new things.

‘This event is the best platform to increase students’ soft skills’, he added. Dr. Rahman said that we have NDC and NAP; Bangladesh is still working on it, but students should introduce all of this to the international community.

The inaugural ceremony was presided over by the President of UNYSAB and Secretary General of BiMUN-2023, Md. Jahidul Islam.

Md. Jahidul Islam concludes his remarks by thanking all the media partners, sponsors, and UNYSAB EC members for their contribution to conducting the event successfully.
