AL factional clash in Nandail leaves 70 injured

At least 70 people were injured including school boys and cops in a clash between two factions of ruling Awami League (AL) on Monday noon foiled a day-long election training programme organised by one of the factions in Nandail upazila in Mymensingh.
The clashing groups ransacked furniture and a few motorbikes.
Injured people were admitted to local and others government and private clinics.
The Officer in Charge (OC) in Nandail model Police Station, Md Rasheduzzaman confirmed this matter.
Traffic movement on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway was disrupted for over four hours due to the clashes causing suffering to passengers traveling to Mymensingh and Kishoreganj.
Locals said hundreds of supporters of Awami League lawmaker of the constituency Anwarul Abedin Khan Tuhin and former MP and Nandail Upazila Unit President in Awami League( AL) Major General (Retd) Abdus Salam locked in clashes over establishing supremacy in the constituency (Nandail Upazila).
