Youth held for college girl kidnap, rape

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Sunday night arrested a young man named Rubel (31), the main accused in the case of kidnaping and raping the college girl in front of the college in Kishoreganj. Rubel is a son of Engraj Miah at Sukhia village of Pakundia Upazila.

RAB-14 Kishoreganj Deputy Director (DD) and Company Commonder Major Ashraful Kabir confirmed this information to a press release on Monday.

According to RAB -14, on June 11, around 9:30 in the morning, three or four unknown persons, including Rubel, abducted the student and took her to an unknown place and raped her.

Later, the girl’s family filed a case under the Prevention of Women and Child Torture Act at Pakundia police station on July 7.

After the incident, RAB continued intelligence surveillance to catch the accused.
