Woman held along with 402 Yaba pills

A woman drug trader named Ayesha Aktar (38) was arrested from the village Paranpur under Chitalmari Upazila in Bagerhat district by the police recently, according to a report received here.

The arrested Ayesha Aktar is the wife of one Masud Shaikh of village Paranpur under the Upazila.

H M Kamruzzaman Khan, Officer-in-charge of Chitalmari PS confirmed the matter and told; acting on secret information a police squad of the PS conducted a raid at Paranpur area under the Upazila at that night and arrested the woman. Later, the police searched her body and recovered some 402 Yaba pills contained in a polythene bag.

At that time Md. Masud Shaik , husband of the arrested Ayesha Aktar and son of one late Abul Kalam Azad Shaikh of village Paranpu managed to escape. In this connection a case was lodged with the PS under the Anti-Narcotic Act.
