KCC Mayor calls for child participation in climate confce

Alhajj Talukdar Abdul Khalek, Mayor, Khulna City Corporation has stated that, due to climate change-related reasons, just as Bangladesh is one of the most vulnerable countries in the world, Khulna is also significantly at risk within Bangladesh.

Particularly in the coastal areas, people are increasingly migrating to Khulna city after being victims of cyclones and wildlife attacks, which is creating pressure on the city.

Therefore, NGOs should also work as partners with the government to improve the quality of life for the residents of the coastal areas.

In order to minimize the damage during disasters, everyone should also pay attention.

Along with that, the city mayor calls on the public to be more aware, which can lead to better preparedness in advance.

The mayor of the city also spoke about these things at the inaugural ceremony of the third annual coastal children’s climate conference organized by the Jagrata Juba Shangha (JJS), at the CSS Ava Center in Khulna city recently.
