AL leader’s son arrested in rape case in Bhangura Bhangura (Pabna)

A young man has been arrested by the police for raping a class 10 student (16) in Bhangura upazila of Pabna. His name is Walid Hossain (18).

He is the son of the late Afsar Ali, former Chairman of Parvhangura Union, former member of Pabna Zilla Parishad and convener of Bhangura Upazila Mahila Awami League Gulshahanara Parveen Lipi.

The police confirmed that the rape incident took place at the Awami League leader Lipi’s house in Pathar Ghata village of the upazila on Thursday.

Police rescued the victim from the spot and arrested the rapist, Walid.

It is reported that the girl went out for private study on Thursday morning but as she did not return home in the noon, her guardian did not find her even though she searched a lot.

In the afternoon, news came that the girl was at Awami League leader Gulshahanara Lipi’s house.

On this news, the girl’s father reported the matter to the police. SI Hafizur Rahman went to the spot with the force.
