BD Women’s Cricket team face India in semi of Asiad cricket today

Sports Reporter :
Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team will face India Women’s Cricket team in the semi-final of the cricket competition of the 19th Asian Games at Hangzhou in China today.

It may be mentioned that the cricket meet of the Asian Games is 20-over-a-side.

Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team reached the semi-final after their quarter-final match against Hong Kong was washed out due to rain.

By virtue of better ranking, Bangladesh have taken place in the semi-final.

India also reached the semi-final without playing their quarter-final.

They have better ranking then their opponent team’s of the quarter-final.

Thus, they have taken place in the semi-final.

After 12 years, the cricket competitions for men’s and women’s are included in the Asian Games.

Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team bagged silver medal in the first cricket competition.

Before today’s match, Bangladesh and India faced each other in the 12 Twenty20 International matches.

Of them, Bangladesh won only one match, while India recorded 11 victories.

It was raining drizzle on Saturday at Hangzhou.

There is every chance to rain on the match day.

If it rains today and the semi-final between Bangladesh and India will wash out, then, India will reach the final as they have better ranking.

In that case, Bangladesh will play against the loser team of the semi-final between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

If Bangladesh win against their opponent team, Bangladesh will achieve bronze medal.

On the other hand, if Bangladesh lose to their opponent, Bangladesh will fail to earn bronze.

Besides, if the match will wash out by rain, Bangladesh have to return home with empty hand.

Coach of Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team Hashan Thilakarathne said, ” My girls are ready to present a better brand of cricket tomorrow.

Due to rain, My girls cannot prepare up to the mark.

If they play according to game plan, they will get a positive result.”

He said, ” The quarter-final match between Bangladesh and Hong Kong was washed out due to rain.

We have reached the semi-final.

It has been raining in Hangzhou for a few days.

I hope the semi-final will be held tomorrow.

I hope my girls will perform well.

I have faith about their capability.”
