Bangladesh Cricket team will face New Zealand Cricket team in their second One Day International (ODI) cricket match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur today.
The game will start at 2.00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time).
Private satellite channel GTV, private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live from the arena.
Earlier, the first ODI cricket match between the Tigers and the Kiwis was abandoned due to heavy rain at the same venue on Thursday last.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh and New Zealand faced each other in 39 ODI games. Of them, Bangladesh won 10 ODI matches, while New Zealand posted 38 clashes and rest of the one match ended without any result.
After getting ODI status, Bangladesh could not get a brilliant success against their opponent teams in the early years. But they have brought success in many of their ODI matches recently.
Specially, Bangladesh are a formidable team for any other teams now-a-days. They recorded many victories against their rivals teams recently.
Not only that Bangladesh will play directly in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023 in India scheduled to be held from October 5. The Tigers have showed an outstanding performance in their recent ODI campaign.
Thus, they confirmed their World Cup berth without playing in the World Cup qualifiers, which was held in Zimbabwe recently.
Besides, Bangladesh showed an average performance in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Asia Cup recently, which is called the Asian World Cup Cricket. The Tigers reached the ‘Super Four’ stage.
They edged past favourites India by six runs in their last match of the ‘Super Four’ of Asia Cup. Later, India emerged the champions in the Asia Cup.
