Comilla rope in Rashid, retain Moeen

Comilla Victorians have retained Moeen Ali and have signed Afghanistan’s all-rounder Rashid Khan for the upcoming edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

It will be Moeen’s third appearance in the BPL.

He previously played in 2013 for Rajshahi and the 2022 season for Comilla.

The leg-spinner, Rashid has rejoined the franchise after six years of gap having played the 2016-17 seasons.

He appeared in 15 matches for Comilla taking 19 wickets and 32 runs in two seasons.

The franchise have already retained wicket-keeper batter Litton Das, pacer Mustafizur Rahman Tanvir Islam and Pakistan’s Rizwan Ahmed for the upcoming BPL.

The four-time champions have roped in young talent Towhid Hridoy, who played for Sylhet Strikers in the previous season.

The players’ draft are set to be held on September 24 in a city hotel.

The next edition of BPL is set to be held in the first week of January next year after the Bangladesh national elections.
