Hilsa weighing 2.5 kilograms netted

A hilsa weighing two and a half kilograms caught in the net of a fisherman named Idris in the bay of Kuakata coast was sold for Tk13, 000 on Sunday.
A fishmonger named Bashir Gazi bought it by bidding for Tk 12,039 through Samira Fees at mayor-bazar of Kuakata on Sunday afternoon.
Later he sold that hilsa to another buyer for 13 thousand taka.
Purchaser Bashir Gazi, Managing Director of Gazi Fish, said, hilsa weighing two and a half kilograms is rarely seen in this market.
So I bought it through auction and sold the fish for 13000 taka at a profit of 1000 taka.
Kalapara upazila fisheries officer Apu Saha said big hilsa mainly brings good news for fishermen.
In addition to deep sea fishermen, coastal fishermen are now getting large hilsa.
