Pathirana joins Rangpur Riders for BPL

Sri Lanka’s Matheesha Pathirana (Baby Maliga) will feature for Rangpur Riders in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), confirmed by the franchise.

The 20-year-old spearhead will make his BPL debut with the 2017 Champions Rangpur Riders.

The franchise took to social media to announce the signing.

Baby Malinga will be joined by ace all-rounder and his teammate Wanindu Hasaranga and overseas cricketers Nicholas Pooran and Babar Azam.

Shakib al Hasan will lead the side in this edition as the icon player.

Rangpur Riders have also retained Nurul Hasan Sohan, Mahedi Hasan and Hasan Mahmud.

Pakistan Captain Babar Azam was also added by the former champions of BPL.

The next edition of BPL is set to be held in the first week of January next year after the Bangladesh national elections.

Besides, the players draft will be held in the last week of September.
