Two lakh cubic feet of sand seized with truck

Over two hundred five thousand cubic feet of sand was seized in a mobile court separate raid in Chunati Union under Lohagara Upazila on Monday.

These operations were conducted from afternoon to evening at various places in Chunati Union.

Along with the deactivation of pipes and machines used for sand extraction, three dumpers have also been seized.

Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Lands) Mohammad Shahjahan said that two lakh five thousand 300 cubic feet of sand was seized in a separate operation and three dumpers were seized.

Pipes and machines used for sand extraction have been decommissioned.

He said that the campaign against illegal sand extraction will continue in public interest and environmental protection.
