Tangail JP leader allegedly out to grab SDS project land
Al Amin :
A Jatiya Party leader named Mozammel Haque is allegedly trying to grab eight acres of land of the Social Development Sangsad (SDS) in Tangail by making fake documents in the absence of actual owner of the project.
Ismail Hossain Siraji of Dhulbari village in Sadar upazila established the SDS project on around 450 acres land in the ’90s along with three friends after getting registration from the Social Welfare Department.
But, an allegation has arisen against Mozammel, general secretary of Tangail District Unit of Jatiyo Party (JP-Ershad) for trying to grab eight acres of land of the project.
Refusing the allegation, Mozammel told The New Nation, “I bought the land from the project’s chairman Nurul Islam in 2015 by following law.
According to the constitution of the SDS, Nurul Islam had been made chairman of it with the consensus of other members in the absence of Siraji, who was in jail during that time.”
“If there is any confusion, they can go to the court and the court will take final decision,” he added.
Sources alleged that in nexus with some corrupt officials at the local registry office, Mozammel has grabbed the land by presenting fake owners of the property.
According to the land documents, it was found that the real owner of the land is Sirazi.
But Mozammel demands he had bought the land from Nurul Islam and Zakir Hossain.
However, Zakir Hossain and Nurul Islam duo also admitted that the real land owner is Siraji.
Talking to The New Nation, Nurul Islam said they became owner of the land as Mozammel promised them to give a handsome amount.
But we have realised our fault and now ready to disclose the truth in the court.
Siraji told The New Nation that he had no idea that his land has been traded.
“I came to know that Mozammel is now demanding that he has bought the eight acres of my family property,” Siraji said.
Chairmen of the Danya, Katuli and Porabari Union Parishads said that the original owner of this land is Ismail Hossain Siraji. Mozammel grabbed the land by making one of the directors of the project a fake chairman unethically.
“A vested quarter is trying to occupy the land in the absence of real owner of it. Mozzamel will be evicted from the land, if it is challenged in the court,” Shahadat Hossain, Chairman of Porabari Union Parishad, told The New Nation.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Tangail district Md Kaysarul Islam said, “Sale of a land without the real owner is a terrible fraud as per the current land law.
But, we did not receive any complaint in this regard.”
“If anybody lodges complaint in this regard, we will take legal action,” he added.
