Victory of people against AL govt is a must: BNP

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday said the victory of the people against Awami League (AL) government is a must.
“The people of the country want a change in the government from the bottom of their hearts as they have got fed- up with its misrule.
So, the peoples’ victory against the misrule of the AL is a must,” Mirza Fakhrul said while addressing at a discussion meeting at the National Press Club in the capital.
Bhasani Anusari Parishad arranged the discussion in memory of Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder and freedom fighter Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury who died on April 11 this year.
Mirza Fakhrul strongly urged the youth to unite for ousting the present regime by intensifying the ongoing one-point movement.
“The AL ministers will gain nothing, no matter what they say. Every moment people of this country want to see this government to go,” Mirza Fakhrul said.
He said people’s lives have become pessimistic and unbearable due to unusual hikes in prices of everything, including food, medicines and clothing.
“In these circumstances, I want to call upon all the youth to come forward to protect the country and the nation…let’s all fight together now to remove this fascism and establish a truly democratic system,” the BNP leader said.
He said the current horrible regime ruling the country by destroying all the achievements of the nation.
“So, let’s move forward as the time is short. We will take forward this movement in unison and our victory is definite,” he said.
Mirza Fakhrul said the people of the country will remember Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury’s huge contributes to the nation forever.
Dr. Zafrullah always wanted to restore a people’s government by unseating this unelected regime.
Rafiqul Isalm Babul, President of the organisation presided over the event while JSD President ASM Abdur Rab, Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar) Secretary General Mostafa Jamal Haider, Gono Forum General Secretary Subrata Chowdhury, and Biplobi Workers Party General Secretary Saiful Haque, among others, gave speeches.
