Awareness meet on nutrition held

An awareness meeting on nutrition and learning activities was held in Chapainawabganj Thursday.

Proyas Manobik Unnayan Society, a non-government organisation organized the programme at Palsha High School in Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila under its Rural Microenterprise Transformation Project (RMTP) in association with Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation PKSF.

Hasib Hossain, founder and executive director of Proyas Manobik Unnayan Society presided over the meeting.

Director of Proyas Mukhleshur Rahman delivered the opening speech at the meeting.

Among others, Islam, manager of PKSF and nutrition expert of RMTP Project Kapil Kumar Pal, medical officer of Civil Surgeon’s Office Dr. Md. Masum, programme manager of International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) MS Mariel Zimmerman and communication officer Farhana Urmi spoke on the occasion. Earlier, a rally was taken out from Palsha High School.

At the end of the rally, the guests visited the stalls set up on safe food production there.

In the stalls medical checkup and nutritional management services for pregnant women and newborns were provided.

Later quiz competition was held among all present.

At the end of the meeting, artistes of Proyas Folk Theater Institute performed a drama and gomvira on raising awareness about nutrition.
