EC sets deadline for becoming voter

Those who want to be a voter in the upcoming 12th National Parliament election, he/she have to apply by September 14 of this month.
If they apply after that, they will not have the opportunity to vote in the next parliamentary elections.
Application for change of constituency can also be made within the same period.
Election Commission (EC) Secretary Md Jahangir Alam told reporters after the commission meeting at the Agargaon election building in the capital on Thursday (September 7).
The EC Secretary said, “according to the Voter Registration Act, the updated voter list of the previous year is published on March 2 every year.
Following this, on March 2, 2023, we have published the previous year’s voter list.
As the 12th National Assembly elections will be held in the last week of December or the first week of January, those who became eligible to vote on January 1, 2023 but could not become voters, will be given an opportunity to become voters.
He said, “If anyone wants to change the voter area during this period, they can also apply for that.
“This application must be made by September 14.
