Tragedy of Palestinian

Mohammad Amjad Hossain :

Historically Palestine has been ruled by several groups, including the Greeks, the Romans and the Ottoman Empire following the end of World war two by the United Kingdom of Great Britain authorities.

The Unilateral declaration of the State of Israel in 1948 was the result of the United Nation General assembly resolution 181 which called for the partition of the British ruled Palestine into a Jewish state and an Arab state.

The resolution was approved on November 29, 1947.

Incidentally it was accepted by the Jewish in Palestine while the Arab countries rejected it. As a result, Palestinian are now suffering.

The United nation as the designated world body has the responsibility to create the state of Palestine.

This is for first time since the President of the United States of America has initiated to resolve the conflict between Israel and Palestinian.

Since talks are in progress between Saudi Arabia and the United States of America incidentally Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has appointed an Ambassador to the State of Palestine Naif bin Bander al Sudauri on August 14 in 2023 amidst talk to normalize relation between Saudi Arabia and State of Israel.

Diplomatic adviser to President Mahmmoud Abbas of the Palestinian received Saudi Ambassador in Amman who was introduced to President of the Palestine state.

Incidentally, the ambassador from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the first Ambassador to the State of Palestine in 75 years following the declaration of the State of Israel.

Historically decades long conflict between Israel and Palestine is rooted in competing claims to the holy land and including disputes over borders, Jerusalem, security and Palestine refugees.

As a matter of fact, Saudi Arabia has supported Palestinian rights to sovereignty and withdrawal from the West Bank and other territories occupied by Israel in 1947.

As a matter of fact, Saudi Arabia was one of several Middle Eastern states of the United Nations partition plan for Palestine. Appointment of Saudi Arabia’s envoy to Palestine overshadowed ties with the state of Israel.

Meanwhile, President Joseph Biden of the United States has approved a two state solution in Israel while President Biden reportedly told Israel last week that Israel would have to make significant concessions to Palestine as a part of any possible mega deal with Saudi Arabia for normalization of relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Israel.

A hectic negotiation is ongoing by the United States to normalize relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel.

As a matter of fact Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is full of natural resources like gold, iron ore, silver zinc and chromium etc but Saudi Arabia is the second biggest petroleum producing country in the world.

Since the appointment of non-resident Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Palestine on August 14, 2023 Saudi Arabia now has decided to renew financial assistance to Palestinian.

Since Israel and three other Middle Eastern countries signed Abrahaham Accord on January 28, 2020 following persuasion by former President of the United States Donald Trump, Saudi Arabia stopped financing Palestinian.

At a recent meeting the Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman told President Mahmud Abbas that Saudi Arabia would not undermine the cause of Palestine statehood.

President Mahmud Abbas also urged both Egypt and Jordan to coordinate a shared position which would be related to Riyadh and Washington as well.

We will watch the situation in which way takes its turn. May almighty Allah guide Saudi Arabia to achieve the goal of Palestinian who has suffered at the hands of Israel since May of 1948 because of the fault of Arab countries which boycotted the ‘UN Regulation 181’.

That resolution passed by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1947 that called for the partition of Palestine into Arab and Jewish state with the city of Jerusalem as a corpus of separatism which was accepted by Jewish community in Palestine while Arab countries rejected it.
