Illegal sand extraction from Lohagar Sarai Canal

The festival of sand extraction is going on in Sarai Canal of Putibila Union of Lohagara, Chittagong. Therefore, the Lohagara-Lama link bridge is now under threat.

It is alleged that these sands are being extracted illegally in collusion with some employees of the upazila administration.

In managing the administration officials or preparing to conduct raids against the sand miners, these officials give advance warning to the sand traders and help in various ways.

Due to which, before the campaign, the sand traders became cautious. Again in the work of seizing the sand and auctioning it, those employees help certain people in the work of taking the sand to the auction. All news reports.

Due to which the upazila administration has repeatedly conducted campaigns, but the sand traders always get benefits. At present, in Putibila Hachna Vita area, sand is being extracted day and night from Sarai Canal near Monir’s shop, Afia father’s house, Kala Dhan’s house, Oli father’s house, near Nasir’s house.

Therefore, the sand traders are extracting sand illegally. Due to unplanned sand mining, the bank of the canal has already started to break again. The Hasna Vita Bridge protecting the Lohagara-Lama connection is going to fall again.

Even before this, the bridge broke down 5 years ago due to the lifting of sand from the surrounding area. At that time, the suffering of the people traveling on this road was extreme.

After 4 long years, the bridge was constructed again this year. Therefore, if the lifting of palms continues, the people of the two regions will suffer greatly.

When Lohagara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sharif Ullah said that we have managed the mobile court and paid the fine and it has also been auctioned.
