Jute-laden truck overturned by mail train in Bhairab

A truck full of jute was crushed by a train in Bhairab of Kishoreganj. The accident took place on Sunday midnight around 1 pm at Shambpur railway crossing line of Bhairab-Mymensingh regional highway.

According to the Railway sources, the engine broke down while jute-laden truck was crossing the level crossing.

The truck driver could not move the truck from the line despite his efforts.

Gateman Suranjit Das, who is in charge of Shambhupur railway crossing gate said that around 1 pm when I got the news that the Nasirabad train from Chittagong had left Bhairab station, I rushed to close the rail crossing gate.

Then a Bhairav-bound freight truck got stuck on the railway line while crossing the railway crossing.

Later, we tried to move the stuck truck off the line but it was not possible to move it due to its load.

He also said that after some time the train arrived.

Then I asked the driver and helper in the truck to move. At that time we tried to stop the train with red flag. Then the train started slowing down.
