Case against more than 225 BNP activists in Dashmina

A case has been filed against 25 people named and 200 unnamed accused in the BNP-Police clash in Dashminaupazila of Patuakhali district.
Earlier on Friday afternoon, BNP leaders and activists had an altercation with the police over observing founding anniversary rally of BNP.
At one point a clash took place between police and BNP and several activists and three policemen were injured in the clash.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Mehdi Hasan of Dashmina police station filed the case as the plaintiff on early Saturday.
Dashmina Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwar Hossain confirming the matter said that three people have been arrested and sent to jail in this case and efforts are on to arrest the rest.
DasminaUpazla BNP General Secretary Shah Alam Shanu said, BNP’s foundation anniversary program was held from the Khankar Math area of the town.
The procession was stopped by the police led by SI Mehdi.
Then BNP cadres after crossing the barrier moved forward and when the procession reached Pujakhola area, the police from behind attacked our procession, the upazila BNP leader alleged.
