Two drug peddlers get life in Jhalokathi

A Jhalokathi court has given life term imprisonment to two absconding accused in a drug case.

At the same time, they have been sentenced to one more year of imprisonment in default of paying a fine of one lakh taka for each.

The sentenced accused are Belayet Hossain (42), son of deceased Khurshid Alam of Paschim Char Jabbar area of Noakhali Sadar Upazila and Mir Ahmed Monir (43), son of deceased Abul Hashem of Nasirabad area of Khulshi Upazila of Chittagong.

Jhalokathi District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Waliul Islam on Wednesday afternoon, announced the verdict after examining of 10 witnesses.
