Captain of Bangladesh Football team Jamal Bhuyan made a colourful debut for Sole de Mayo against Club Atletico Germinal in the Argentina Third Division Football League at Argentina on Sunday.
Sole de Mayo beat Club Atletico Germinal by 2-1 goals.
Sole de Mayo led the first half 1-0.
Fernando of Sole de Mayo put his team ahead after deceiving two defenders and then found the net in the 30th minute of the match.
Sole de Mayo were awarded a penalty kick as a player of them was roughly charged by a Germinal defender at the D-box in the 81st minute of the play.
Jamal Bhuyan made it 2-0 for Sole de Mayo by a spectacular spot-kick.
Gabriel of Germinal reduced the margin (1-2) in the 87th minute of the game.
Sole de Mayo got a good number of opportunities in the second half but failed to convert those.
Sole de Mayo took the 6th position in the points table bagging 32 points from 24 matches, while Germinal took the 7th spot earning 24 points from as many matches.
It may be mentioned that Jamal Bhuyan led Sole de Mayo as the captain of that club.
The supporters of Sole de Mayo arrived at the stadium with a banner.
They wrote ‘ Welcome Jamal’ in that banner.
Jamal Bhuyan was highly delighted after his rememberable debut.
Jamal said, ” It is very important for us that we earned three points.
I am glad that I scored a goal.
The weather was against the favour of us.
The temperature was three to four degree.
It was very windy and I felt cold.”
He said, ” A good number of expatriate Bangladeshi spectators came at the galleries to give me support.
I am giving thanks to them.
Please pray for me.”
Bangladesh Football team will play two FIFA International Friendly matches against Afghanistan at the Bashundhara Sports Arena in the city on September 4 and September 7.
Marking the FIFA International Friendly matches, Bangladesh Football squad have been taking part in the training sessions under the Head Coach of Javier Cabrera at the match venue.
Jamal Bhuyan is expected to join the coaching camp on Wednesday.
