Gold prices fall by Tk 1,751 per bhori

The Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (Bajus) has reduced the price of the precious metal by Tk1,751 per bhori.
With the new rate effective from Friday (18 August), 22-carat gold will cost Tk99,027 per bhori, down from Tk100,777, reports the media.
The new price has been set in view of the fall in the price of gold in the local market, the Bajus said in a statement today (17 August).
Earlier on 20 July, the price of top-quality gold reached an all-time high of Tk100,777 per bhori following an increase of Tk2,333.
Earlier on March 18, the gold price in the local market was jumped by Tk 7,698 to record Tk 98,794 per bhori.
