7 College students block Nilkhet

The students from seven affiliate colleges under Dhaka University (DU) blocked Nilkhat intersection seeking the opportunity to promote in the next year by relaxing the CGPA condition.
The students started to gather at Nilkhet from Wednesday morning. And halting traffic, they blocked the Nilkhet intersection by forming a large circle around 12 pm and were shouting slogans in favor of their demands.
However, the commuters suffered much as no vehicle could pass through the area during the protest and thereby heavy traffic jam in this area.
The students left the street after one hour of the blockade.
The students said, “We have been protesting for three months to give promotion opportunities through improvement.
We have been assured, but no decision has been made yet. Besides, the results have been declared late. We have already prepared for the next year and completed the incourse and test examination.”
Mentioning that it is not possible to give exams in all the subjects of the previous year, the student said, “So, we want to relax the prescribed CGPA conditions and ask for promotion in the next year through improvement tests up to three subjects.”
