Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that the upcoming 12th national election at the end of this year will be a participatory one.
He said that the ruling party will not allow anything beyond the Constitution including the reinstatement of the caretaker government, and resignation of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the election.
Quader was speaking at a press briefing at Shetu Bhaban of the capital on Monday morning.
“There will not be an election without opposition parties. This election will be a participatory election.
There are many parties other than BNP who will participate in the election and even many leaders from BNP will also participate in the next national election,” Quader said.
“Awami League’s strong message’s that nothing will happen against the Constitution and against the Parliament,” said Quader.
He said: “Participation in elections is not a privilege, it is the right of political parties.”
Regarding the recent meeting of US Congressmen, the ruling party general secretary said: “No foreign friend or congressmen raised any demand of BNP.”
