Seven youths go missing in trawler capsize

Seven Bangladeshi youths from Narsingdi district have gone missing after a trawler carrying them capsized in the Mediterranean Sea on its way to Italy from Libya.
Relatives of the missing youth confirmed the information to the media on Saturday.
The missing youths have been identified as Mokhlesur Rahman, 20, son of one Rafikul Islam; Anwar Hossain, son of one Hasen Ali; Kamal Hossain, 34; Masud Rana, 22, son of one Hasan Uddin; Monir Hossain, 22, son of one Harun Rashid; Rabiul, 33, son of one Motaleb Mia; Swadhin Mia, 20, son of one Mohram Ali and Aman Mia, 21.
They all are the inhabitants from Belabo upazila of Narsingdi.
In this regard, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ayesha Jannat Tahera said, “I have come to know about the news from people but the families of those missing youths are yet to contact me.
I am trying to communicate with the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment to know about the incident.”
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Belabo Police Station Tanvir Ahmed said, “We have heard about the matter but received no complaint yet. We are enquiring about the incident.”
