Helper crushed between two buses in capital

A bus helper named Jisan Hussain (18) was killed after being crushed between two buses in the capital’s Mirpur area on Sunday morning.

Quoting witnesses, Ruhul Amin, assistant sub-inspector of Mirpur Model Police Station, said the accident occurred in the morning at Mirpur-1 Bus Station when the two buses-‘Paristhan Paribahan’ and ‘Prajatir Paribahan’ were in a competition to take passengers.

Amjad Hussain, a co-worker of the deceased Jisan, said, “Paristan Transport and Prashant Transport two buses were competing to pick passengers from Mirpur Section one.

At the time Jisan was crushed between two buses. He was rescued in critical condition and rushed to Pangu Hospital first.

From there, around 12:30 pm when he was brought to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

ASI said, ‘Two buses have been seized and two drivers have been arrested in this connection. The body has been kept in the hospital’s morgue for postmortem.

Jisan was the son of one Monir Hussain of Jaya village of Borhan Uddin Upazila of Bhola district.
